difficult this year to find the best bargains, due a reduction in ship capacity
in some areas and higher prices in others. Alaska cruise capacity has been
reduced by 25% from 2011 and many of the newer mega-ships like Oasis and Allure
of the Seas are priced some 20% higher than others. Someone has to pay the
mortgage on those big ships.
However, in places like the Caribbean, where just about every cruise line has to
go in Winter, the competition is heating up during wave season. There just are
too many ships and too many cabins to fill, so you will find cheap deal offers
with bonus extras like shipboard credit, cabin upgrades or free shore
excursions.
Prices on a seven-night Eastern Caribbean cruise with Norwegian Cruise Line from
Miami start at $549 a person, for an inside cabin, a savings of over 60% off
published rates
Live on the West Coast, why not cruise the Mexican Riviera For example, a
seven-night cruise from Los Angeles on the Sapphire Princess in February or
March starts at $369, or a little more than $50 per day.

In spite of a reduction of capacity for Alaska, you can find bargains that
