Hi Raye.
"Wanted to thank you for your help in our Alaska trip. Can't tell you how much we enjoyed going back to my home for 2 years. The cabin worked out very nicely. The window was more than adequate. In fact we noticed that very few travelers were using their balcony so the money saved was a good decision. Your advice on the White Pass Railway was really appreciated. It'll be difficult to take another cruise that would be as rewarding as this one was. But we may try again next Summer or the year after, Any really really great bargains show up let me know. Thanks Again."

" We're still unpacking and catching up on sleep but we wanted to thank you for all your help in planning our Alaska trip. We all had a wonderful time. The weather was more than ideal. Landscapes, day trips, wild life and the cabin were perfect. If only we had more time to take full advantage of everything. Thanks for all your suggestion and expert advice. We could not of done it without you (or if we did, not nearly as well).  So many places to see in the world, but if we head out by ship again, we'll definitely be in touch. "

Annual Meeting: Alaska Cruise

ALASKA FUN FACTS

SIZE : At 586,412 square miles, Alaska is 1/5 the size of the continental Unites States!

MOUNTAINS: Alaska has 39 mountain ranges containing 17 or America's 20 highest peaks, including the legendary Mount McKinley, tallest mountain in North America at 20,320 feet

GLACIERS: Alaska has an estimated 100,000 glaciers, which cover approximately five percent of the state ( 29,000 sq.miles). There are more active glaciers and ice fields in Alaska than in the rest of the inhabited world.

• PIPELINE: Since it was completed in 1977, the Trans-Alaska Pipeline has moved over 15 billion barrels of oil 800 miles through three mountains ranges and over hundreds of rivers from Prudhoe Bay to the port of Valdez.

• BALD EAGLES: America's national bird is more prevalent in Alaska than anywhere else on earth. From October through January, over 3,000 bald eagles gather in Haines to feed on late run salmon in the Chilkat River.

Alaska: More moments than buildings, more wildlife than people and more glaciers than stoplights. Alaska: it's amazingly different, with the tallest mountains, the largest area of national parklands, the highest concentration of glaciers and the longest coastline in the US. Alaska is a place of magnificence, but not beyond your reach.

What's The Best Way

To See Alaska?

By Land and Sea!

An Alaska Cruise tour offers a cruise voyage, land-based lodging, and rail travel all in one itinerary. So, you can get the most out of your Alaskan adventure -- by land and sea. The best of both worlds! Combine the 7-day Voyage of the Glaciers cruise with a 3 to 8 night stay on land. You just have to decide where you want to go.  Summer's the best time of year to explore Alaska's spectacular wonders — from Ice Age glaciers and frontier towns to miles of unspoiled scenery. And the bays and mountains of Alaska are best appreciated from your elegant cruise ship, domed railcars and deluxe motorcoaches. Plus, take advantage of great fares for 3rd and 4th guests.

Group News "The weather this week wasCruise Traveler Magazine is an online cruise magazine offering unbiased cruise tips, feature articles, and need to know information about cruising. Line Voted Best in Alaska for Fifth Straight Year at Magazine's Readers' Choice Awards

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. -- Princess Cruises has once again received top honors as the "Best Cruise Line in Alaska" in the annual Travel Weekly Readers' Choice Awards. This marks the fifth year in a row, and the eighth time, that the company has been recognized with this distinction by the respected magazine's travel agent readers for its Alaska cruises and cruisetours.

"We're delighted and honored that the true travel experts -- travel agents -- continue to recognize our Alaska cruise program each year," said Jan Swartz, Princess Cruises executive vice president. "We're passionate about the Great Land and sharing it with visitors, and this award acknowledges that we offer the best Alaska vacation experience in the industry."

Drawing upon more than 40 years of experience cruising the 49th state, Princess Cruises offers Gulf of Alaska and Inside Passage sailings and an extensive selection of cruisetours, with accommodations at five Princess-owned and operated, scenic wilderness lodges. The company's immersive Alaska experience is created by combining a seven-day Gulf of Alaska cruise, including two distinct glacier viewing opportunities, with a land tour ranging from three to nine nights, along with travel by glass-domed railcars.

In addition to experiencing the state's charming port towns, spectacular scenery and marine life while on a Princess ship, passengers who extend their vacation with a land tour will explore Alaska's dramatic interior including at least one night among the wilderness of Denali National Park, one of the state's top attractions. And only Princess offers Direct-to-the-Wilderness rail travel to give visitors more time in the Denali area.

Princess' 2013 Alaska cruise season features seven ships, including a fourth ship added to the Gulf of Alaska route, and three ships sailing the Inside Passage. They will depart on 122 voyages, and travelers can choose from more than 20 different cruisetour options.

Featured Cruise Tour Article: By Raye & Marty Trencher

You don't want to miss Alaska's biggest attraction.

Denali National Park

When you plan your Alaskan vacation, do you plan to encounter a striking landscape, a place so expansive that it shelters more than six hundred-fifty species of flowering plants and thirty-seven mammal species?

Do you envision your Alaskan tour to include a dizzying six million acres filled with large caribou, moose, and grizzly bears, and offset with startlingly small flowers, miniaturized to suit Alaska's short growth season?

Of course we're talking about Denali National Park, the focal point of an Alaska Cruise Tour.

Some unique things you can choose to

do in and around the park...
Take a helicopter ride to view breathtaking

  Mt. McKinley's from the air!
Kayak, raft or jet boat down crystal clear

  lakes and rivers!
Drive a team of Alaskan sled dogs!

Denali National Park

See Denali National Park, Mt. McKinley and the wildlife of Alaska.

Travel via scenic domed railcars; deluxe, restroom-equipped motor coaches; Overnight at deluxe “rustic” lodges; great wildlife and scenery only on an Alaska cruise tour can you experience all that Alaska has to offer. Denali National Park is located 240 miles north of Anchorage, and encompasses 6 million acres of forests, tundra, glaciers and mountains - that's larger than the entire state of Massachusetts. Yet only 90 miles of main road traverses the park, leaving the moose, caribou, sheep and bears free to roam a wide area of land untouched by man. Denali National Park has long been a place of refuge for those with the will to survive its rugged terrain. Indeed, only the strongest plants flourish in this world of sub-arctic wilderness. Species of mosses, lichens, fungi, algae, and others spangle the slopes and valleys of Denali. Deep pools of frost collect just beneath the park's surfaces, and only the thinnest sheen of topsoil thaws enough each year to stimulate new life. But the fragile nature of the region leads to continuous rebirth. New rivers can spurt up in days and flowers bloom just in time to serve as supper for hungry wildlife.

Did you know: Grizzly bears have been a threatened species since 1975 in the Lower 48 states?  Alaska however has over 32,000 grizzlies. Considering Alaska's population is only 670,000, that's 1 bear for every 21 people. Alaska is home to magnificent glaciers, giant halibut, hardy outdoorsmen.... and lots of moose.  Alaska has 39 mountain ranges.  Did you know? The larger ranges include: Alaska Range, which includes 20,320 foot Mt. McKinley, the continent's tallest peak , Aleutian Range, a volcano-ridden range on the Alaska Peninsula, Brooks Range, which is above the Arctic Circle; the Continental Divide runs through it and Boundary Ranges, along the Canadian border of the Inside Passage.

What's the best time of year to see Mt. McKinley and visit Denali National Park? Answer here?

Since in 1923 the Tundra Wilderness Tour takes travelers on a 7-8 hour excursion into the park with a certified driver-naturalist. The buses are newer but the scenery is virtually unchanged

The Tundra Wilderness Tour travels through Denali's best wildlife-viewing habitat to capture stunning Mt. McKinley views from Stony Hill, deep in the park.

Tundra Wilderness Tour Highlights:
- 7 – 9 hours in length, 54 miles one way into the park
- Great chance on spotting wildlife
- On a clear day, witness the granduer of Mt. McKinley
- Light snack and hot beverage provided
- Tour makes stops every 90-minutes for restroom breaks
- Bring your camera, extra film and binoculars
- Advanced reservations highly recommended

There are two general departure times for

the Tundra Wilderness Tour.

AM Tours generally depart between 5:20AM – 7:30AM.
PM Tours generally depart between 1:30PM and 3:00PM.

INSIDERS ALASKA

If you like your scenery on a spectacular scale, prepare to be amazed. The glaciers, gorges, waterfalls, forests and lakes are simply stunning and when you factor in the wildlife – brown bears and eagles, whales, sea otters and more – and all the great adventures you can have ashore, hey, it’s like nowhere else on earth. More from the Alaska "locals"

During the early and late seasons, due to Denali Park service guidelines, the Tundra Wilderness Tour may be substituted with a 5- to 6-hour Teklanika Tour

"Our May18th Coral Princess Copper River Alaska Cruise tour was great!

   5.0 out of 5 stars

Thanks for all your help, especially for getting us that bump-out balcony starboard room. We had warm sunny days for almost the entire trip. The whole Alaska itinerary and our excursions were perfect.  We had such a good cruise that we think it will be difficult to find another that we will enjoy as much as we did this one, but we decided to try anyway. Can you make some recommendations for us? Preferably something kind of adventurous."

Thanks again.  John & Priscilla

Thanks for arranging our trip. It went very well. Everyone had a great time from the 5 year old to the 70 year olds...

We saw whale, fish spawning, seals etc. Some did a zip line and loved that. We took the train and one family took the helicopter to the glacier. Each did their own thing. The glaciers were impressive. Holland America was very good. Each evening the stewards had a different animal out of towels, the food was good, resources fine.... We had good weather, rarely rained and we were generally the only ship in port most places, so it was not too crowded. The ship was so big we had to arrange to all meet in the evening or else we may never have seen each other! I had gotten us all the same t-shirt and we had our pictures taken in it.  Thanks again for the help.

I certainly will recommend your company.

Well, it has been 6 weeks since our family Alaska adventure! What a wonderful trip. Everything from our flights/connections to every other facet of the trip itself went perfectly.  Your expertise and suggestions as well as all the arrangements and extensive follow up truly made this a trip of a  lifetime. We can never thank you enough!!

As you know, Jan and I had been to Alaska previously on an escorted tour and had some idea of what to expect.  However, with our idea of taking the entire family this time (10 people), we were a bit more concerned that everything was thought of ahead of time.  When I found your internet site while researching this trip, I certainly didn't expect a phone call that very night I requested info!

Your intimate knowledge of Alaska and suggestions regarding specifics such as the lodges, side trips, stateroom preference, etc, proved invaluable and really made this trip the best.  We will obviously (and have) recommended your organization to anyone wanting an excellent tour of Alaska.

The highlight (in my mind, anyway ) of the trip was the zip line adventure in Juneau.  It was done in a rain forested island involving multiple stations and a great group of guides.  The most adventurous of us participated.  Another highlight was the excellent tour guide and the food. We were surprised at how good the food on the land portion of the trip was.  Now my son has to get our grandson to lose his taste for crab legs ( he ate them 3 nights in a row)

Again, thank you so much for arranging a great trip of a lifetime for our family!!!

Bear, Wolf, Moose and Caribou

Our trip was excellent. The room, with the upgrades, was amazing! We saw many eagles (bald and golden), one bear, many whales, including one breach, seals, one bear, one wolf, moose and caribou, and many smaller animals.. If we travelled during salmon run, we probably would have seen more bear and eagles. The scenery is to die for, the vistas spectacular. The ship was great; service, food, etc were all great. Thanks for everything.

Exceptional Cruise

Sapphire Princess

This ship had just been refurbished and was in great condition.  This cruise rates up there with some of the best we have had on the larger ships.  The crew was amazing, friendly and helpful.  Cabins were spotless, food was very good, entertainment and Sabatini's...were very good.  Lots of choices for entertainment and activities during the day.

Superb In Every Way.

Diamond Princess

This was our third cruise and it was superb in every way. Fast check in and excellent food with wonderful choices at every meal. The menus change every day except in the Italian restaurant. The ship is beautiful! There are many, many activites- something for everyone. We loved the ports of call. Skagway was a little tedious when there were five ships there at the same time. However, it was still great for shopping. Princess went out of their way to exceed our expectations in every detail. We will definitely do this cruise again, soon. Read more

We Floridians like to escape the summer heat, so when Vincent saw a July Alaskan Sea/Land Cruise advertised, "North to Alaska" sounded great ---- we just returned from this trip, and it was great. The Sea cruise included the following ports: Vancouver, Canada; then in Alaska: Ketchihan, Juneau, Skagway, Glacier Bay, College Fjord and Whittier. The Land tour included Anchorage, Fairbanks and the Midnight Sun rail tour through Denali National Park (Healy and Talkeetna).

I think it can be summed up by quoting the tour director..... "This is not a vacation, it is an adventure" Thanks so much for the wonderful dinner at the Pinnacle Grill.
