Trip Cost: Trip Cancellation covers you if you cancel your trip for a covered reason. Q. What are cruise credits and how are they used?
A. A cruise credit is a credit voucher, not a cash settlement. If you need to cancel your cruise for covered reasons relating to pre-existing medical conditions (if purchased within 15 days of initial deposit), weather, termination of employment, military duty or terrorism, you would be issued a voucher for a future cruise. This voucher would be equal to 100% of your trip payment and must be redeemed by your travel agent. The cruise credit is valid for up to one year, and is non transferable.

Q. How does Cruise Guard differ from cruise line provided insurance?
A. Cruise Guard offers many added benefits that you will not find from cruise line insurance, plus it's more competitively priced. Cruise Guard provides coverage for missed connections, bankruptcy (if purchased within 15 days of initial trip deposit), and 3^rd party air (air booked directly by the traveler). Plus, travelers will receive higher medical expense limits and 100% cruise credits or cash reimbursements for cancellation, depending on the reason for cancellation — all of these are benefits not found in most cruise line provided programs. Q. What is missed connection coverage?
A. If you are delayed due to weather for 3 or more hours and missed your cruise due to the delay, we will pay up to the trip cost to cover additional transportation expenses for you to rejoin the cruise. Meals and accommodations are limited to $200 per day.

Q. Can I cover the airfare that I booked on my own and not through the cruise line?
A. Yes. We encourage you to purchase insurance to cover all of your pre-paid non-refundable expenses.

Q. How soon do I have to purchase?
A. Coverage may be purchased any time up to 24 hours prior to departure. You will receive additional benefits if you purchase your Cruise Guard plan within 15 days of making your initial trip deposit.
