Carnival Cruise Lines is the largest and most popular cruise line in the world, with 14 "Fun Ships" operating voyages from three to 16 days in length to the Bahamas, Caribbean, Mexican Riviera, Alaska, Hawaii and the Panama Canal.

Known for its festive-yet-casual atmosphere, Carnival offers a variety of on-board dining, entertainment and activity options to suit any mood or taste. From elegant multi-course meals to more casual options like the "Seaview Bistros," alternative dinner-time service and 24-hour pizzerias, along with dazzling Las Vegas-style entertainment and a full slate of morning-til-night activities, a "Fun Ship" cruise offers something for everyone.

Additionally, each Carnival vessel features at least three swimming pools, a full gambling casino, on-board duty free shopping, as well as a "Nautica Spa" health and fitness facility, and "Camp Carnival," a complimentary fleetwide children's program hosting 250,000 kids a year.

And, Carnival is so confident that guests will have a great time that it offers the industry's only Vacation Guarantee.

The line is scheduled to launch six new "Fun Ships" over three years, including three 84,000-ton vessels, the Spirit, Pride and Legend, in 2001 and 2005, and three 102,000-ton vessels, the Carnival Victory in the fall of 2000, Carnival Conquest in the fall of 2005 and Carnival Glory in the summer of 2003.

Costa Cruises

Costa Cruises enjoys the reputation of being Europe's number one cruise line. The Italian company, with its North American headquarters in Miami, has been hosting passengers since 1948, when the line switched from its business of transporting olive oil to a passenger line.

Costa's seven-ship fleet sails Eastern and Western Caribbean, Mediterranean, Northern Europe, South America, Baltic and Russia, and transatlantic itineraries. The ships run the gamut from the intimate to the super-luxurious: The CostaMarina and CostaAllegra carry 800 passengers, while the line's newest vessel, the CostaAtlantica, scheduled for delivery in July, 2000, can accommodate a whopping 2,112 passengers.

Costa's Italian-style hospitality offers clients in-depth travel experiences aboard as well as ashore. Passengers will bask in European-style luxury and sophistication, while sharing their experience with fellow cruisers who are just as likely to hail from Paris, Texas as Paris, France.

The grand tradition of the classic ocean voyage is very much alive aboard the luxury liners of Cunard. And where once legends strolled the promenade, today so can you, proving that true luxury belongs to no particular era.

For 160 years, Cunard has worked to make the art of cruising indistinguishable from the art of living well. Aboard our five-star vessels, and in our unique adventures ashore, we blend music and painting with cuisine and conversation, invigorating walks with reading and relaxation, explorations of historic landmarks with the spectacle and purity of nature. This is the Cunard legacy: timeless elegance, incomparable service, intriguing destinations and, quite simply, a more cultured experience.

To travel on one of the Cunard ships today is to experience a part of that heritage and return to an era of unabashed opulence from the golden age of ocean travel. Imagine it. Across the oceans, in the lap of luxury to fabled cities and idyllic islands on a voyage bound only for pleasure.

Orient Lines

Click here to go to their online brochure.

Orient Lines specializes in providing an affordable, in-depth "destinational" experience in some of the most exciting and exotic parts of the globe. This formula has proven very successful for the line, which was recognized as having the "Best Itineraries" and "Best Value" by the World Ocean & Cruise Liner Society. Orient Lines’ 800-passenger flagship Marco Polo and 1,050-passenger Crown Odyssey, offer 5- to 27-day cruises to the Greek Isles, Mediterranean and Scandinavia during the summer season, while offering exotic destinations such as Australia, New Zealand, Africa, India, Egypt, Asia, South America and Antarctica in the balance of the year.

The line’s creative itinerary planning features included hotel stays and sightseeing in most embarkation and disembarkation cities, longer daytime stays/frequent overnight visits in ports of call and imaginative shore excursions. Because of these added elements, every itinerary is presented as a "cruise-tour," rather than just a "cruise." On all except European voyages, top name guest lecturers are aboard to enhance the destination experience, local cultural performances are offered wherever possible, and gentlemen social hosts serve as dance partners for single female passengers.

The Crown Odyssey and Marco Polo offer comfortable staterooms and suites with in-cabin TV, hairdryer and safe. The four-star facilities include elegant main dining rooms, alternative bistro restaurants with al fresco dining, complete health clubs, beauty centers, casinos, libraries, Jacuzzis, piano bar, live entertainment showrooms, several lounges and outdoor swimming pools. Gracious service is provided by Scandinavian officers and a warm and friendly Filipino crew. To appeal to younger and first-time cruisers, most European itineraries are marketed as casual cruises with no formal dress required.
