Disney Cruise Lines
Few names coincide with "kids", "family"
and "fun" the way "Disney" does. They
offers activities for your toddlers,
teens and ages in between. There’s also
plenty of mature fun for you, like
relaxing in the Vista Spa & Salon, or
enjoying a romantic dinner in the
adults-only restaurant, Palo.
Disney's "Oceaneer Adventure" program
for ages 3-12 offers dozens of
interactive, supervised programs onboard
and on Castaway Cay, Disney’s private
Bahamian island.
The "Oceaneer
Club" for ages 3-8 has a Captain Hook’s
ship theme and includes flights to Never
Land, scavenger hunts with a "Little
Mermaid" theme or a "mission control"
activity assisting Buzz Lightyear in his
journey "To Infinity and Beyond!"
The "Oceaneer Lab" for ages 9-12
includes "Goofy’s Gum Shoe
Investigators", a marine biology themed
game show, treasure hunts, baking "solar
pizzas" and more.
If you have kids under three, there are
special parent-supervised structured
activities for you to share with them,
such as bubble fun and storytime.
In-room babysitting is also available on
a first-come, first-served basis.
|
|
Teens can hang out in a New
York-style coffee house, "Common
Grounds", test their skill at
the ESPN Sports challenge or
laugh it up at a comedy club
where Disney Cruise Line’s
improv professionals teach
funny-stuff basics, among other
fun activities. |
 |
Disney
offers seven-night vacations that
combine a three- or four-night cruise
with four or three nights at Walt Disney
World Resort. Cruise-only options are
also available.
In
addition, seven-night Eastern, and
Western Caribbean cruises are
available.
Disney's Oceaneer Club
Kids ages
3-7 sail to a world devoted to fun and
fantasy in this wondrous play area
designed like Captain Hook's ship — it's
just for them!
|
Activities that open new worlds
of fun and fantasy — from
mesmerizing meetings with Disney
Characters to playful puppet
tales, from circus activities
under the "Big Top" to space
adventures to Infinity and
beyond!

by Condé Nast Traveler readers. Winners were determined by a
survey of more than 11,000 participants who rated 400 ships.
Participants were asked to rate ships based on specific
criteria including: staterooms, activities, service, design
and layout, dining, itineraries and shore excursions.

Bringing Up
Baby...
Beginning March 15, Disney Cruise Line will launch a service
that delivers baby supplies directly to guests' staterooms.
Through an agreement between the cruise line and online retailer
Babies Travel Lite, Disney says families preparing to sail will
be able to preorder the supplies needed for their voyage and
have them delivered straight to their staterooms when they reach
the ship. Available products will include diapers, baby food,
infant formula and "specialty travel items."
"The
new delivery service eliminates the challenges of packing for
infant travel, while onboard conveniences simplify family travel
for parents looking to relax during their cruise vacation," Tom
Wolber, Disney Cruise Line's senior vice president of
operations.
The
Disney Magic is an excellent mixture of classic ocean liner
beauty and Disney whimsy. She is an exceptional choice for
family cruising, but provides enough space, entertainment, and
activities to draw couples and adults traveling without kids.
Disney excels at organization and entertainment, and these two
elements are key to a successful cruise experience. Throw in the
characters and the small Disney touches such as the "When You
Wish Upon a Star" chimes, Mickey's voice on the wake up call,
and the hidden Mickey heads woven in to the decor, and it's a
fun week for everyone.

T oddlers,
Teens and All Ages In Between
Generally speaking,
activities are designed with specific agegroups in mind, and are
fun and educational.
Don't be surprised to see kids engrossed in a variety of cool
pursuits, from learning to play the ukulele and dance the hula
to getting the basics of computer programming. It's all part of
the fun, like the puppet workshops, talent shows, scavenger
hunts, stargazing and pool games, and the poolside "coketail,"
pizza and ice cream parties. These reduced fares, plus the fact
that all food, transportation and activities are included in the
cost of a cruise, makes a cruise one of the best vacation values
for budget-conscious families |

Did you know....Disney Cruises are known
for excellent kids' programs, and for live shows and
entertainment with pizzazz; and docking at private
island Castaway Cay isn't too shabby either. Every week,
Disney Cruises publishes "Magical Rates" on its Specials
page. Children's rates are available for kids 3 to 12 in
a room with two parents. Under-three's are a bargain as
they're free, unless you want to sign up for infant care
Flounder's Nursery. (The other kids programs are free.)
