How To Plan The
Perfect Cruise
|
1. |
Start
your research early so you can take advantage of the best
values. Book your cruise three to six months before your
departure and take advantage of early-booking savings. Pick up
cruise brochures from your local travel agency or order them
direct from the cruise lines, or check out the Cruise Direct
Online offers, ships, sailings, promotional prices and deck
plans online. Use CruiseSearch to
learn about destinations, prices, types of staterooms. Use the
Cruise Line Links to check onboard activities, sightseeing,
dining options and more. |
|
2. |
Decide
what destination you want . Talk to a cruise advisor who is an
expert on cruises, or ask friends, neighbors or co-workers who
have cruised for recommendations. |
|
3. |
Decide
the length of the cruise you want. 3,4,5,7,10,12 days or more. |
|
4. |
Set a
budget. The cost of a cruise could include the cruise fare, port
charges, government fees, airfare and air taxes, transfers, pre
or post cruise land tours. Extra costs to consider are onboard
purchases, sightseeing tours and other items of a personal
nature. |
|
5. |
| Call or e-mail
a Cruise Advisor. Tell the advisor your budget and the
cruise you want. Have a copy of the cruise brochure handy,
so the cruise advisor can explain all the options you have
and will be referring to the brochure for details. |
 |
|
|
6. |
Choose
your port of departure. |
|
7. |
Choose
the port of call, the stops the ship makes- that interests you
most. Sightseeing tours at these ports are optional at
additional cost. |
|
8. |
Select
the type of stateroom you want. Staterooms ( cabins ) vary in
size and location on the ship. Use the deck plan and see
the brochure for photos and where the staterooms are located. |
|
9. |
Ask
about any deposit, final payment cancellation policies or other
restrictions. The back of the brochure contains details and a
limited discussion of your legal rights. |
|
10. |
Your
Cruise Advisor will reserve your stateroom. Ask about discounts,
children fares, senior rates, airfare specials. i.e. what's the
best deal available. |
 |
Caution: |
| |
Book only with a reputable
licensed and experienced agent.
One who's business is predicated
on great service and good value. Choose an agent who provides
timely service, on-going support, and an experienced
advisor that you can talk to. All of these are an integral part
of value, and can make all the difference in the world in
helping you plan the perfect cruise.
